Blackjack opens 2026 season with back-to-back ASCS top-tens at Volusia
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (February 2, 2026) - “Blackjack” Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing launched their 2026 season in a big way, igniting action with their traditional Missouri exodus to Florida to join the best in the country for the annual DIRTcar Nationals. Brown, who has been sidelined since August when his hand was injured at Knoxville Raceway, launched his new year with ASCS National Tour competition at Volusia Speedway Park on January 29-30, concluding the first two nights at speed with back-to-back top-tens.
Brown, the Grain Valley, Missouri, native and ace of his own Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Wilkerson Crane Service, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mountain Dew, Ditzfeld Transfer, Ditzfeld Container Service, No. 21 sprint car, finished fourth and tenth, respectively, actually earning the pole position on Friday before missing a crucial setup component.
Due to weather, Saturday’s ASCS National Tour DIRTcar Nationals finale - worth $12,000-to-win - has been postponed to Monday
“Pretty decent start to our 2026 campaign,” Brown was quick to state. “Came out pretty quick on Thursday to finish fourth after battling towards the front. Friday, we tried some things in the A-Main to get even better for Saturday, but we missed it one-thousand percent. My wrist feels pretty good…I wouldn’t say it’s ‘normal’ yet, but it’s definitely allowing me to do my job. I'm still learning to deal with it, but overall, it feels pretty decent. Chad, Justin, Devin…everyone is doing a phenomenal job. We’re going to do what we can to cap this ASCS stretch with a win, then have a great four days with the Outlaws beginning Wednesday.
“Also, I would like to thank everyone from Housby, Randy Timms of Western Flyer Express, Tim from Spring Pro, as well as Mesilla Valley Transportation for all stepping up and lending a hand when our truck broke down on the way to Florida,” Brown added. “So many other people reached out and tried to help us out and we’re ever grateful for that. When the entire sprint car community steps up like that to lend a hand, it really feels great.”
ON DECK:
Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2026 campaign with ASCS National Tour competition at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida, on Monday, February 2. Their schedule then continue with four nights of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series action, also at Volusia Speedway Park, on Wednesday through Saturday, February 4-7.
